Duterte said in a bizarre and strongly worded late-night news conference on Sunday the PH might leave the United Nations and invite CN and others to form a new global forum, accusing it of failing to fulfill its mandate. However, his foreign minister, Perfecto Yasay, said on Monday the PH would remain a U.N. member and described the president’s comments as expressions of “profound disappointment and frustration”. “We are committed to the U.N. despite our numerous frustrations and disappointments with the international agency,” Yasay told a news conference.S. officials declined comment on Duterte’s U.N.

Last week, 2 U.N. human rights experts urged MNL to stop the extra-judicial executions and killings. Yasay said Duterte has promised to uphold human rights in the fight against drugs and has ordered the police to investigate and prosecute offenders. He criticized the U.N. rapporteurs for “jumping to an arbitrary conclusion that we have violated human rights of people”. “It is highly irresponsible on their part to solely rely on such allegations based on information from unnamed sources without proper substantiation,” he said of the United Nations.

Senator Leila de LIM, a staunch critic of the president, started a two-day congressional inquiry into the killings on Monday, questioning top police and anti-narcotics officials to explain the “unprecedented” rise in killings. “I am disturbed that we have killings left and right as breakfast every morning,” she said. “My concern does not only revolve around the growing tally of killings reported by the police. What is particularly worrisome is that the campaign against drugs seems to be an excuse for some law enforcers and other elements like vigilantes to commit murder with impunity,” De LIM said.

  1. Lee Eric, amusing. Now please support your ridiculous threat with a list of your felonies. And then run along back to your bridge.
It is good to avoid encouraging stupid people.
You have no idea how wonderful this review was.

  2. I don’t respect that at all.
I’m always going to be better than you,so I’m happy
Nobody is more focused than the one with nothing to lose or everything to gain. It almost reminds me of a quote that I have partly forgotten. Something to do with workers and chains. And a world to win.

  3. Reminds me a bit of stepping into the “library” of some old monastery. Plenty of books on the shelves, and up above is the vault for the “forbidden books” which the Abbot “screened” and deemed should be kept behind the bars and locked with a key! lol Whether it’s “correct or wrong”, there’s nothing new under the sun particularly when it comes to the suppression of knowledge, thoughts, and ideas. That’s the truth.
That would be a good line if it were true.

  4. lol, especially with higher minimum wages and taxes, plus obamacare. oh and no sick days, loa, and workers comp required. nor labor related legal liabilty. damn, i should look into it for my company.

Rebecca Enerson …I am not insane.

  6. Oh great…the thilla’ from Wasilla. Why should this trashy idea surprise anybody?
Gee, how shocking because it might cost him money and of course, his kids have been vaccinated. They don’t call em carnival folk for nothing.
Totally agree it takes time to tell a story. That is why the book is often better that the movie. The best movies are always long. Gettysburg, Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, Gone with the Wind and Lonesome Dove. The dumbing down of America never ceases to amaze me. No I am not saying this movie ranks with those but i really liked the movie.

  7. James Wolfe, not too bright yourself, are you?
I loved this article. So timely, and very interesting.
Proof that beauty rules are simply opinions. Be a grown-up and wear what you like.

  8. Wow, that is a good question. Difficult, though; what does one gauge his response on?
Hilarious that you think that wasn’t already going on.

  9. Are you kidding? You’re darn right it could.
Wow, that is a good question. Difficult, though; what does one gauge his response on?

  10. Rejection is great. It makes you more determined for the next onslaught..Always stay the course, cause the tracks only go one way. You eventually will see the light.
Orville! Thank you for saying what I wanted to say only better!
“Thank you very much. You knowledge on the subject is unparalleled.

  11. Of course, these folks seem to think because they are well-known, that somehow that makes them smarter than the rest of us
Don’t listen to fangirls or fanboys. They can be rather narrow-minded and prejudice to any changes to their precious characters. Always judge for yourself.
    Oh hell, why not.

  12. Wouldn’t it be interesting to interview the two who sent rejection notices? If you can find which gutter they were kicked out to.

  13. If the definition of “reason and measured” was “giving equal weight to all sides”, we would still be debating whether witches were responsible for bad luck. And thanks for drawing a parallel to climate change beliefs, because there is a good bit in common between the two. I think your demand for 100% conclusive anything shows a lack of understanding about how this process works. In your view, no science is valid or I suspect this is a way to give you the room to pick and choose anything you want.
Are you kidding? You’re darn right it could.
    Is this satire? Bwaaahaaaahaaa.

  14. What a train wreck.
You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.
Thanks for painting with such a broad brush. Been a biggot long?

  15. You’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.

Orville! Thank you for saying what I wanted to say only better!
    Congratulations, you’ve removed all doubt.

  17. The problem with saying something is “debunked by ‘leading’ scientists” is that you can turn around and find just as many scientists who take the opposite side in this debate. Like the global warming/climate change issue, this is not settled debate, and there are just as many who have good points on both sides of the issue. I understand that people do not like the opposing sides in these debates, but it is not fair to allow only one side to be heard until scientists can prove CONCLUSIVELY that vaccinations are a good thing without any dangerous side effects, or that climate change is caused to a large degree by man, and has a man-made basis. All points of view should be shared equally so people can make their own minds for themselves.

  18. Kevin Don’t do it. You funny as all git out but nobody wants to read that. You make me laugh so hard my side hurts but listen to me here.. DONT DO IT!!
You mean like the stupid people that refuse to do any research on their own and that just blindly believe that the current CDC schdule of SEVENTY FOUR vaccine doses before age 18 has absolutely nothing to do with the exploding epidemic of autism? The stupid people that have read the THOUSANDS of peer-reviewed published articles linking vaccination to brain and gut damage (both symptoms of autism?). The stupid people that have spent YEARS actually researching the issue and have come to the conclusion that mass vaccination in developed countries has caused much, much more harm than good? The stupid people that have acutually listend to the many, many scientists and doctors that are not ” bought” that have spoken out against vaccination with sound, verifiable data? If you mean those stupid people, then yeah, I agree. Can’t you – just for a moment- entertain the idea that maybe you have been lied to?
