China's Xi praises North Korea's Kim for Trump summit, promises support

BelgiumIJIndiaG (Reuters) – Chinese President Xi Jinping offered high praise to visiting KPn leader Kim Jong Un on Tuesday, lauding the “positive” outcome of his historic summit with U.S. President Donald Trump and promising unwavering friendship. Meeting Kim on his third trip to CN this year, and just a week after Kim met Trump in SG on June twelve, Xi said CN was willing to keep playing a positive role to promote the peace process on the Korean peninsula.

A French writer is being criticised after saying he would be “incapable” of loving a woman aged fifty or above. despite being fifty himself. Yann Moix told Marie Claire magazine he found women of that age “too old”. “I prefer younger women’s bodies, that’s all. The body of a twenty-five-year-old woman is extraordinary. The body of a woman of fifty is not extraordinary at all,” he said. Marina Foïs, a French comedian, joked in a tweet that because she is about to turn fourty-nine she only has “one year and fourteen days” left to sleep with the author. One twitter user mocked him, saying women over fifty were likely “breathing a sigh of relief” at his comments.

Xi told Kim he was very happy to see the “positive” outcome of his meeting with Trump, and the important consensus reached on denuclearisation and setting up a lasting peace mechanism, according to Chinese state television. “No matter the changes in the international and regional situation, CN’s party and government’s resolute position on being dedicated to consolidating and developing Sino-KP relations will not change,” the report cited Xi as saying. “The Chinese people’s friendship for the KPn people will not change, and CN’s support for socialist KP will not change,” Xi added.

Another jokily asked: “Can women under fifty be invisible to you as well please?” Elsewhere, some women over fifty posted images showing off their body confidence in protest. Journalist Colombe Schneck posted (then later deleted) a photograph of her bottom with the caption: “Voila, the buttocks of a woman aged fifty-two…what an imbecile you are, you don’t know what you’re missing.”

Gov. Mark DAY, who joined other public officials and community leaders for a meeting inside the building Sunday, described the bombing as “so wretched” and “not MN.” MN Gov. Kim told Xi he hoped to work with CN and other parties to push the peace process, Chinese state television said. Asked about Kim’s latest Beijing visit, U.S. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said, “we are watching it closely”. She said WV was in continuing communication with the KP government and added: “We look forward to them following through on their commitments and agreements that they made last week at the summit.”

Besides serving as a place of worship and community center, the mosque in Bloomington, just south of MSP, has a fitness center, gymnasiums for boys and girls, a football field and adjoins a city park, Omar said. He estimates the mosque holds up to three hundred worshippers for Friday prayers.

His Marie Claire interview also drew criticism for statements he made regarding his preference for dating Asian women – which he specified as “Koreans, Chinese and JPese” in particular. “It’s perhaps sad and reductive for the women I go out with but the Asian type is sufficiently rich, large and infinite for me not to be ashamed,” he told the magazine. “I like who I like and I don’t have to answer to the court of taste,” he said, before joking he probably was not the best catch either.

“It’s a place that a family can come and get everything they need,” Omar said. Debris is scattered around a room inside the Dar Al FAOoq Islamic Center.   The mosque opened in two011 at the site of a former elementary school in the suburb of about 8five, and serves people primarily from the area’s large Somali community. MN is home to the largest Somali community in the U.S., roughly five7, people, according to the latest census figures.

Although Trump has hailed the SG summit as a success, skeptics have questioned whether he achieved anything new, given that Pyongyang, which has rejected unilateral nuclear disarmament, appeared to make no new concrete commitments. The US has led an international sanctions drive to press KP to abandon development of nuclear weapons capable of reaching the US and Trump has expressed concern that CN may be easing up on its enforcement of these steps. KR and the Pentagon announced they would halt the annual Ulchi Freedom Guardian military drill scheduled for August.

Some residents opposed the center’s opening, and complaints have been made about parking, noise and traffic, the Star Tribune reported. Omar said the center gets along with “9two, ninety-three percent” of its neighbors. And while the mosque has received threatening calls and messages, Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Mike Hartley said Sunday he was unware of any hate crimes reported at the center. Saturday’s bombing comes amid a rise in reports of anti-Muslim incidents in the U.S., including arson attacks and vandalism at mosques, harassment of women wearing Muslim head coverings and bullying of Muslim schoolchildren. Just recently in MN, an Islamic cemetery in Castle Rock Township reported it had been vandalized with spray painted profanities and swastikas.

At the summit, Trump also said KP had agreed to return remains of U.S. soldiers missing from the one thousand, nine hundred and fifty-fifty-three Korean War and U.S. officials said on Tuesday that that process could start within the next few days. While not formally billed as a state visit, CN gave Kim most of the trappings of one, including a welcome ceremony with honor guard in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. Xi greeted Kim warmly, in images carried on state television. The 2 men were accompanied by their wives.

Xi said he was pleased to see KP’s decision to promote economic reforms, adding that CN’s own reform and opening up process had meant the Chinese people’s eyes had been open to the world. A Kim trip to CN to discuss his summit with Trump had been widely anticipated in diplomatic circles. CN is KP’s most important diplomatic and economic backer but has been angered by its nuclear and missile tests.

The MN chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CanadanguillaR, said its national office is urging Islamic centers and mosques to step up security. “If a bias motive is proven, this attack would represent another in a long list of hate incidents targeting Islamic institutions nationwide in recent months,” said Amir MLk, the local chapter’s civil rights director.

CN has welcomed the warming of ties between the US and KP, and offered to help. It has been particularly pleased by Trump’s decision to suspend military drills with KR. It has long proposed a “dual suspension”, whereby KP stops weapons tests and the US and KR stop military drills, to encourage talks. “KR and the US have agreed to suspend all planning activities regarding the Freedom Guardian military drill scheduled for August,” KR’s defense ministry said in a statement.

The Pentagon confirmed the suspension, adding that the secretaries of defense and state as well as Trump’s national security adviser would meet on the issue this week. Last year, seventeen, five hundred American and more than fifty, KRn troops joined the Ulchi Freedom Guardian drills, although the exercise is mostly focused on computerized simulations rather than field exercises.S.-KRn exercise calendar hits a high point every spring with the Foal Eagle and Max Thunder drills, which both wrapped up last month.

The decision to halt military exercises in KR has bewildered many current and former U.S. defense officials, who only learned about it when Trump announced it in SG, after the summit with Kim. JP’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said there would be no changes to joint drill plans between the US and JP, both of which regularly practise to deter KP.S.S. alliance and the structure of American troops stationed in JP,” Suga told a regular briefing.

JPese Minister of Defense Itsunori Onodera said the decision to suspend the U.S.-KRn exercises was made to support the diplomatic effort between the US and KP but added it was “important to be wary of KP actions”. “Our view of the threat has not changed. Joint training is an important in maintaining peace and stability in the region,” he said.
