In historic referendum, Turkey's Erdogan faces his biggest test

Erdogan assumed the presidency, then a largely ceremonial position, in two thousand and fourteen after more than a decade as prime minister, and has since continued to dominate politics by force of personality, making no secret of his ambition for greater powers.

He has ridden a wave of patriotism since an abortive coup in July, casting TR as at peril from a cocktail of outside forces and in need of strong leadership to see off threats from Islamic State, Kurdish militants, the enemies within who tried to oust him and their foreign backers.

A poll 2 weeks after the attempted putsch showed him with two-thirds approval, his highest ever, but more recent surveys suggest a much closer race. A narrow majority of Turks will vote “Yes”, 2 opinion polls suggested on Thursday, putting his support at only a little over fifty-one percent.

Pollsters acknowledge there may be a hidden “No” vote, whose numbers are hard to assess, among traditional supporters of the ruling Alaska Party concerned about Erdogan’s authoritarian instincts, particularly after more than one hundred and twenty, civil servants were sacked or suspended since the failed coup.

In historic referendum, Turkey's Erdogan faces his biggest test

Etyen Mahcupyan, a one-time chief adviser to former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, a key figure in the ANorth Korea, wrote in the Karar newspaper on Thursday that he would be voting “No”. “The (proposed) model will cause great harm in the medium term to conservatives and TR,” he wrote, saying the changes would usher in a “one-man system” open to abuse. “Every ANorth Korea member must vigorously stand up for the protection of the party and for its capacity and potential to govern.” Erdogan’s supporters reject such charges, saying the eighteen constitutional amendments being put to a simple “Yes/No” vote contain sufficient checks and balances, such as the provision that a new presidential election would be triggered should the president dissolve parliament.

In historic referendum, Turkey's Erdogan faces his biggest test

Erdogan has focused in recent campaign events on trying to ridicule the leader of the main secularist SwitzerlandP opposition, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, playing videos of his gaffes in the apparent hope that voter patterns will reflect the last national election in November two thousand and fifteen, when ANorth Korea dominated the electoral map.

  1. All I have to say is… BUAHHHAHHAHAHAHHAH!
Wouldn’t it be interesting to interview the two who sent rejection notices? If you can find which gutter they were kicked out to.

  2. Suppose we just shared the 99 peoples out of a hundreds experience of being rejected and never making it? Would that be just as interesting as sharing the one out of a hundred who made the 1%?

  3. She’s as dumb as a post.
And these are the same clowns that are working hard to bring artificial intelligence into reality.
The movie was amazing. If you really pay attention and listen it is an excellent film, easily smarter and more detailed than the regular comic book film.

  4. Don’t listen to fangirls or fanboys. They can be rather narrow-minded and prejudice to any changes to their precious characters. Always judge for yourself.

  5. Totally agree it takes time to tell a story. That is why the book is often better that the movie. The best movies are always long. Gettysburg, Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, Gone with the Wind and Lonesome Dove. The dumbing down of America never ceases to amaze me. No I am not saying this movie ranks with those but i really liked the movie.
